Deborah Buck and Buck House were pleased to join Typo Berlin’s 13th International Design Conference , Typo Berlin 2008, this May in Berlin, Germany . The theme for 2008 was “ Image “ the premise being that more than ever before design is playing a part in making companies, people and brands distinctive and commercially successful . 50 recognized designers from 22 countries contributed to 50 indivual presentations and workshops.

 

Deborah Buck traveled with The School of Visual Arts MFA Design co-chairs Lita Talarico and Steve Heller as well as fellow faculty member, uber designer Stefan Sagmeister, all of whom were speakers at Typo. Lita Talarico’s lecture was entitled “ The New Designer’s Image” based largely on the contents of her upcoming book “ The Design Entrepeneur” co authored with Steve Heller. The lecture as well as the book include Deborah Buck and Buck House as examples of how the self and public image of the new designer has met the promise of the digital age. The book , published by Rockport press will be available in September worldwide at Amazon.com.
